I am at last managing to make progress on using FH - my first ever genealogy programme - and I am beginning to understand the relationship between the various programme entries that I have made. Now that I have several lists to look back through, I can see that my INDIVIDUALS list can be viewed alphabetically with the surnames capitalised in blocks, followed by their first names; and that is how the programme operates. But now I realise that my SOURCES list always displays the first names at the beginning then followed by their surnames. And I do understand that this has happened because I have personally entered the details of the sources and this came naturally to me at the outset. Now I wonder whether this might give me cause for regret in the future; particularly thinking of the name changes of some women throughout their lives and the repetition of many first names. Would I be advised to go back through my source entries now and retype / reverse the names before my list grows any longer?

I tend to use the Source type then the surname and name, but there is no mandatory reason to do so, it's really what you are happiest with. You could simply go through and change the titles on your existing sources to put the surname first.

Many thanks. That is one more brick in the wall of knowledge that I need to build.
