In the past I have used rpriv very successfully to remove the BMD dates from my reports but now that I have Photos so much a part of my system I find that to use rpriv also removes the photos. I have tried to use the RJTFHC add on but I's afraid that the instructions are rather to sparse for me to be able to get it going. Can anyone help please with simple step by step instructions? Will a combination of the two add-ins give me reports with media but without the BMD's of the living?

RJTFHC is a little utility which Jane has made available on the FHUG to allow us to merge the Media files in with the GED Com files when we transfer projects from one computer or Program to another. As it stands Family Historian will only move the text and leave the media, making it a monumental job to shift a big project as you have to re-enter all of the links to the photos. Sadly, as you can see I am having difficulty in using it through a lack of understanding of how it and its associated utilities work.

FHC is pretty simple, but it needs IrFan View installed, just download and install it.
Make sure you have the newest version of FHC as I changed it for V4.
Just make sure you set the location for Irfanview, you can find it by right clicking on an irfanview icon and selecting properties.

I'm confused -- I use Res Privata and all my media are left unchanged by it...

Jane
I have tried ever so hard to understand how to use this utility but I am lost completely.
I have Ifran View installed but have no idea of what you mean by setting the location. For an old duffer who works every day with FH could you take me through the steps one by one for the values I should be using for the FHC and Ifran View. Please.
