I have hit a snag when trying to install FH on a Windows 7 computer. My original version of FH was V2.1.8, on a CD. I susequently received a V3.0.0 CD, but this will only upgrade an existing V2 version. Similarly, I have the V4 upgrade, but not a 'standalone' V4. So I have to install from the V2 CD. When I tried this, I got the following error message -
Setup is unable to find installation languages in D:FHSETUP.LID file. error 105.
Hardly surprising, since there is no file of that name on the CD! I have a SETUP.EXE, a SETUP.INI and a setup.ins, and also a language.dat, but alas, no setup.lid.How can I get round this problem?

I have exactly the same problem. However, I am unable to locate my original V2 disc - it is a few years since I used it. Any suggestions on how to get over this would be appreciated.

If you don't have the V2 disk, I am not sure what the best course of action would be, if you contact support at family-historian.co.uk they might be able to help, but I doubt they still have V2 CDs for sale.
