Hi, I am slowly getting used to doing queries, please could anyone tell me is there a way to do one for a person who died as a child or before they got married.

Any help appreciated, thanks

Yes.

Oh you mean you want to know how? [grin]

The died as child is easy enough

Add if =AgeAt(%INDI%,%INDI.DEAT.DATE) less than 21

You could also use %INDI.DEAT[1].DATE:AGE_AT% but that will only return if you have in keyed (I think)

Unmarried people

Find everyone who is not married
Add if %INDI.FAMS[1]>% is null
Then exclude the living (or at least not known as dead)
Exclude if %INDI.DEAT% is null

Yes, I did want to know, lol, just worded it wrong, thanks for your help Jane, off to work now but I will try that out tomorrow.

Feeling quite pleased with myself, managed to get flags on diagrams for birth marriage and death certificates obtained, great stuff!![grin]

There is more than one way to skin a cat, so here's my contribution:
Columns
Individual  %INDI%
Birth  %INDI.BIRT[1].DATE%
Death  %INDI.DEAT[1].DATE%
Death Age  %INDI.DEAT[1].AGE% [if explicitly entered]
Death Date(Age_At)  %INDI.DEAT[1].DATE:AGE_AT%
=AgeAt(Death)  =AgeAt(%INDI%,%INDI.DEAT.DATE%)
Latest est.Birth  =EstimatedBirthDate(%INDI%,LATEST,2)
Earliest est.Death  =EstimatedDeathDate(%INDI%,EARLIEST,2)
Min.est.Age  =EstimatedAgeAt(%INDI%,EstimatedDeathDate(%INDI%,EARLIEST,2),MIN,2)

The last three columns may be useful if you have baptism and/or burial dates rather than birth and/or death dates.
Rows
(1) Add unless %INDI.DEAT[1]% is null
(2) Add unless %INDI.BURI[1]% is null
(3) Add unless %INDI.CREM[1]% is null
(4) Exclude if %INDI.DEAT[1].AGE% is older than ['Age']
(5) Exclude if %INDI.DEAT[1].DATE:AGE_AT% was later than ['Age']
(6) Exclude if =AgeAt(%INDI%,%INDI.DEAT.DATE%) is greater than ['Age']
(7) Exclude unless %INDI.FAMS[1]>% is null

Filters 1-3 will include anyone where any death-related event exists.  Filter 4 then excludes those where explicitly recorded age at death is older than the cut-off age you specify, e.g. 15 (above which age they could have married) or 20 (i.e. 21 or older).  Filters 5 & 6 exclude on the basis of an age calculated from birth and death dates; I've used both because they don't always give the same result for  non-exact dates.  Filter 7 excludes anyone linked as spouse to a Family record, even if technically unmarried.

You could also simply use the standard age at death query & click on the age column to sort by age. Copy & paste the young ones into excel.

Just for interest, on the subject of flags and those who died young. I made a little black cross icon to flag people who died young on diagrams. Its quite useful and shows how terribly unlucky (or lucky) some families were.
