Hi folks.
Happy New Year!
Does anyone know if the hyperlinks/pages etc which are created via the website wizard are consistent, ie. a particular person's webpage always having the same URL.
The reason for the question is that I wish to directly link to person pages of the website generated by the wizard, from my blog - and I don't wish the page URLs to change every time I update the website.
Does that make sense?

The url name for individuals is based on the individual's Record ID so shouldn't change if that remains the same.

Entries in the table of contents don't always follow this (I think) but should stay the same as long as you retain the same order in the ToC.

I do something very similar on my website.

Hi Steve,

In my experience the URLs generated are consistent - they are based on the record number for either individual or family records. So providing you don't change the record numbers all should stay consistent.

The only slight complication is that should you discover a new spouse for an individual ie create a new family record then if you just upload the newly generated site to your server there will be a link to the new family record now in the new 'index' however the 'old' indivdual page will still be on your server. This doesn't cause a problem - justs takes up server capacity unless you trouble to delete the old page.

the link at the bottom is to my site which is a mix of FH generated pages and my own by way of an example

hope this helps

Cheers
Chris
