Family Group Sheet

Post by Marilyn » 24 Nov 2009 18:59

Please could anyone tell me how to add marriage details to the children on a Family Group Sheet, I think I must be missing something as I can get the spouse and even details of the spouse`s birth and death, but no marriage details, i.e. date and place. I have got the marriage details of the parents on the group sheet but no others.

I have tried all ways round but must be missing the most obvious way to do it, I would be grateful if anyone could help.

Thank you

Marilyn

Under report Options, you need to add an extra line to Family Members Main Items, and insert data reference for Spouse Marriage date and Place.

Hopefully Screen Captutre below helps.

Thanks for advice, I have managed to get marriage date and data reference etc. in the Family Member Main items but how do I get I over into Family Member Attributes/Events, I have tried editing it in the second box but it doesnt give you chance to put a data reference in. (Sorry if I seem think, still trying to get my head around everything you can do in this programme)

Just to edit the above, I am half way there, I think I didthe expression wrong, is there any chance of telling me the full expression I need, I can only read half of it in the screen shot, and that would be very helpful, thank you

Full Ref i used was

%INDI.FAMS[1]>MARR[1].DATE%, %INDI.FAMS[1]>MARR[1].PLAC%

which give Date and Place, note will only show for First Marriages as denoted by FAMS[1], if want 2nd marriages then add extra lines changing the 1 to a 2.

Hi Tim

You are being very kind and patient with me, I am trying to do this as a Christmas present for my parents, but just cant get this finishing touch.

I have got as far as %INDI.FAMS[1]>% by pressing Family as Spouse, but then I can findnothing about marriage in events and only Marriage Count in attributes, if I press on marriage count and press date I get %INDI.FAMS[1]>%%INDI.NMR[1].DATE% and not the data reference that you have i.e. marriage, what am I doing wrong. I am very grateful for your help and if you could talk me through the process it would be very much appreciated. Thanks again

Marilyn,
Marriage can be found as an Event for Family as Spouse>> in the Data Reference Assistant, and you can drill down to Date and Place, as shown below:Image
and you need to manually alter the index from FAMS[1] to FAMS[2] in the Data Reference to get the (1st) marriage for the 2nd family:

Code: Select all

%INDI.FAMS[2]>MARR[1].DATE%, %INDI.FAMS[2]>MARR[1].PLAC%
