I'm trying to print off an up to date tree for my great grandfather.
His dad married twice, and i want to have the marriages on separate sheets - and the respective children.
Only when i view the tree, a (2) appears in place of my great grandfathers name.
How can i change this to show his name

Roz,
I don't know what causes the '2' to appear instead of the name (Jane may well be able to explain this).
Have you tried printing two separate diagrams, and simply hiding one of the spouses each time?

What tree format are you using and which text scheme?
Is it possible you have a proxy box of some sort showing?

Hi Roz,
I've just tried to duplicate the situation using my own tree and may have found the problem.
When I look at an ancestor who had 2 wives, the first is shown in her own box with normal details. The 2nd wife also has all correct details BUT there is a number 2 on the outside, top right corner of the box.
If the box you are referring to has no details inside, it probably means that there is a second (incorrect) 'marriage' - for the SPOUSE of the person you think should be there. So, check first for the number of Spouse for the wife of your Great Grandfather.
Hope this helps

I am viewing the ancestors and descendents tree.
next to his first wife, his details appear. Then there is a double dotted line, and then a pink box with (2) written in it, then his second marriage details.

It sounds as if you have edited the text lines for the second box, have you tried a different text scheme, I suspect the 2 is a proxy box, can you do a screen grab and post it so we can see?

Hello Roz,
If your open the Diagram Options box, you will see a drop down box with a label 'Spouse display options:'.
To the right of the drop down box is a button labelled 'Options...'.
Click the Options button and you will get a pop-up labelled 'Spouse Display Options'.
The first line is a warning in red says Display Remarriage boxes even when displaying Spouse Boxes. If you remove the tick from the box adjacent to this comment, your problem should be solved.
