Duplicate Sources

Post by Johnyeates » 19 Sep 2009 19:09

I find that I have created various sources that are very similar, eg. 'Record Office Cumbria' and 'record Office Cumberland'.
There are several of these that I would like to combine.
I have tried to create a Query that will tell me the individual that the source applies to but have failed.
Any ideas please?

Regards
John

Why not simply use the merge tool to merge the source records?

Thanks for the reply.
I would like to find out which individuals the sources refer to so I can check the data.

Just click on the source, go to View, select Record Links and it will give you a list of those who are linked to that source.  You can then select any from the list and go to that record.

Merging the sources should be easy. Select one of them, go to merge/compare and you will get a list of all the sources.  Select the one you wish to merge with, and say OK.

Hope this helps!
