In the main window when a tab is first selected, if an alpha key is pressed, you are taken to the first item starting with that letter. Press a different alpha key and you are again taken to the appropriate place. This happens on every tab except Families. On that tab you have to click in the search box and then type.
This annoyance has existed since at least V2. Can it be corrected to make the tabs consistent?

Families Tab
I would guess this is because all the lines actually start with 'of'
I'll flag it. The search box does work correctly as I am sure you know.

Families Tab
I thought perhaps the slightly different behaviour on the Families tab is deliberate because unlike all other record types, a family has not one but two identifying (linked) names, either of which may be missing altogether or unknown. This means that the 'appropriate place' is not as obvious as on the other tabs. Since clicking the Family Records column header sorts the list by husband's surname and forenames, then (if duplicated) by wife's surname and forenames, I guess jumping forward to the next record where the husband's surname begins with the letter keyed could be programmed.
But the only way to get to a family record using the wife's surname would still be to use the relevant search box which, as on the other tabs, can of course use more than the first letter. This is certainly useful in my case with dozens of Baxters and dozens of Bulmans.

I work a lot in the Families tab and in practice I find that I 'always' know the husband name so the ability to hit the first letter and bring up husband names starting with that letter to me is desirable. On the odd occasion when I know the female name and not the male then I do use the female box.
