re-instal v 4

My computer crashed,lost everything but 1 file was retrieved but need to re-instal before windows will open file.Do I re-install v3 then the upgrade which is how I purchased software or try to download full v4? Help

You need to re-install V3 then V4. Hopefully that should work. Thats what I did !![smile]

Lost everything?! If so, it is such a shame and so unnecessary. Were you not backing-up your valuable files?

External hard drives are relatively cheap, USB memory even more so - certainly cheaper than losing your important work due to computer chashes.

Also, check out online back-up services for off-site secure storage. There are postings for this.

Did have external hard drive, this is where I can't open the file, downloaded v 4 trial but it won't accept my licience no. Had no reply from email sent to Calico Pie yet to see what they say I can do about it.

What email address did you send to?

You need to send to support@family-historian.co.uk

They are normally pretty quick with key requests.

You will need to install the V3 trial if you have V3 keys.

Thanks Jane, I now have my registration key no from Calico Pie, installed v 3 then upgrade to v4, able to find most of my history..missing abt.12months research, better than all of it.
