Family Tree on A0 size paper

Post by wewonwonce » 06 Sep 2009 16:38

Just a question
Who has too many names on their family tree to print it out on A3 or A4 paper and would like it printed on A1 or A0

Errrmmmm ... I just stick lots of A4 sheets together if I want to print it.

I never do a permanent one because if I did it would be just before I made a big new discovery and I'd have to do it all over again.[lol][lol][lol]

Well its a nice offer - thanks [smile] but as I explained I never feel ready to print a proper, permanent tree!

I have just done one for a big VERY extended family meet-up. Its not very tall (1.5 landscape A4) but it is 22 landscape A4 sheets long!!! I did my very best to compress it but you can only go so far if you still want it to be easily understood. There are 490 blood relatives and their spouses all going back to one marriage in 1791. [lol] I expect we will write all over it when we all meet up with additions and corrections.

I am intrigued.
The family tree I have put together on OA is able to show 7 generations and has 64 in line boxes for the most distant generation. Each box for husband and wife has space for their occ, dob & loc, dod & loc and brothers and sisters.
I am unsure if this is large enough to cover most family trees but would like to investigate this further.
I could e-mail you a sample of my tree if you wish however I am unsure if this is allowed.

We had a great meeting and the tree was 6 metres long!!! We just laid it out on tables. Lots of new additions were made and I have updated the FH tree on my computer. It was well worth doing but I don't think larger paper would have helped much.
