sorting events

Post by jonno697 » 04 Sep 2009 08:29

Hello all,
I'm trying to get the events list on the Individual facts list sorted into date order. I've not long migrated to FH from other program, and now I;m reentering stuff which didn't come across, and some of it I've entered after other stuff if you see what I mean. However I can't seem to get the program to sort them out in date order. I've tried the drop down 'sort family & events ' button but all that tells me is there isn't any to sort. If i click on the event I wish moving to try to do it manually, no arrow button highlights so am unable to do it this way, Any ideas?

If your Events have dates go to Edit>Re-order Events by Date... F9. This will re-order records individually. For a global re-order to all records at once go to Tools>Re-order Out-of-Sequence Data.

Also make sure the events you have imported have valid dates. If they have ' ' around them FH did not recognise the format of the date and treats it as a Date phrase.

There's also a button below the Facts list called 'List in Order'. I've no real idea of what it's supposed to be for, but you don't get the move up/down arrows enabled unless you press it.

Thank you for that.

I've often wondered how to activate the up/down arrows & now I know.
