Ancestral Chart or Diagram

I am a fairly new user of Family Historian and am having trouble creating a simple ancestral chart or diagram.
I would like it to fit on A4 Landscape paper.
No boxes, just lines. No photos.
Have each ancestor numbered - with me being no. 1, my parents nos 2 & 3 etc.
I would like it to show just basic birth, marriage and death details.
I can find nothing in 'Getting the most from Family Historian' or the help on line.
It's probably really simple to do but I just cant seem to work it out. Would appreciate some help.
regards
Susan

I would suggest starting in chapter3 of getting the most from FH, then chapters 9, 10 & 11.
Or main FH Help menu search help contents using FH How to diagrams & charts display a diagram.
This will show you how to view an ancestors diagram.
Then look in the help again but this time - show text only (no boxes)in diagrams.
The events displayed for each person is controlled by the text scheme back in the help this is listed as change the contents of boxes in diagrams.

Hello Susan,
Most of your requirements are fairly easy to implement - IF you are using FH4.
1. With the person required as the basis of the diagram selected, go to the View menu and select 'Standard Diagrams'. Then select 'All Ancestors - No Box'.
2. Once the diagram has opened, select the Diagram menu and choose 'options' at the bottom. Select the 'pictures' Tab and set the 'preferred picture to display' {top left area} to 'none'.
3. Then select the 'Text' Tab and go down the list to select the 'Text Scheme' called 'Name, Dates, Ahnentafel Numbers'
This procedure will give you -> no boxes, with lines, individuals numbered (Ahnentafel) and BMD dates (not places). If you want the places as well, change the options on the Text Tab or Edit the text Scheme to include them.
To adjust your Print settings, use the Print option on the File menu then select Print Setup. If your require your Diagram to be on one A4 sheet, it would be easiest to choose to output the diagram to a pdf file and use the 'fit to one page option' as mentioned in the help file.
Unfortunately, I cannot say if this method would work with FH3 or earlier, but I suspect not (the pdf was not implemented for example).
Hope this helps

Another option is simply to use the Ancestor Report, and turn off all the events and save it as a custom report so you can use it when ever you want.
