Printing Page Numbers in Diagrams

Post by mjc2002 » 21 Apr 2004 13:32

Having just printed out a truly wonderful 55-page family tree (quite delighted with FH!), I wonder whether it's not possible to actually print the page numbers in order to help assembly.

Kind of related, probably one for the wish list, is it possible to print out the 'view whole diagram' in a couple of pages as a kind of 'key'?
Obviously, the text would most likely be so small as to be illegible - but that's also the case on-screen and I find myself constantly using this option just to navigate around the tree.

Thanks
Mike

PS. Sorry for 'My generic signature' after my name. I keep editing it out of my profile, but it keeps coming back to haunt me.

If you want to get the whole thing small on a few pages, simply right click on a bottom right page corner and drag it out over the whole diagram. There is not a page number option. The biggest problem I guess is trying to tipex it out afterwards. Do you want me to add it to the wish list?

How about just writing the page numbers on the back of each page in pencil as they come out of the printer?  That way you don't have to tipex them out again when you've got the whole thing assembled.  Just a thought.

Thanks, Simon. Good idea - and, in fact, is what I've done.

I think it would be useful to have the option to print page numbers. If the font could be sized as well then on some of the numerals would be covered by the overlap when the pages were stuck together. Assuming the numbers were in the top left corner as they appear on screen.

Did the diagram pagination idea ever get to the wish list?

I think it would be a great idea.  Most of my family don't 'do' the internet so paper versions are important.  I can't tell you what a pickle I get into standing over (not the quickest) printer when I'm printing out multiple copies of an updated family tree.

Please put it on the wish list.
Many thanks
