Married Cousins amp; Duplicates

Hello,
I have just downloaded the V4 trial in the hopes that this software can do what the others can't.
I need to show the marriage of cousins correctly, without subsequent duplication of grandparents, in a vertical pedigree chart (I can do this quite simply in a spreadsheet by 'swapping' round one set of parents).
Does anyone know if this is possible in FH?
Thanks.

Hello Roger,
I've just had a look at a variety of charts produced where I know that my Great-Grandmothers parents were first cousins. To explain what I found, it is easiest for me to use Ahnentafel numbers. Taking my Great-Grandmother as the 'Root', I found the following -
1. all the Charts which are 'Ancestor only (no siblings)' show her No10 & No11 twice but No20 & No21 (& above) once {above No20}. IE it shows her Grandparents twice, but all great-grandparents once.
2. The 'All Relatives' Chart shows everyone in their correct position and duplicates everyone (if they appear in more than one place). IE it shows her No10 & No11 twice and No20 & No21 twice.
Unfortunately, I don't have details for No22 & No23 in the above example - yet.
I'm not certain I've answered your question, but I've tried to explain how my family appears on the Charts. I hope this helps you get your answer.
Regards
Bilko [smile]

Use the ancestor chart.
On diagram options choose
check for duplicates.
Hide duplicated family branches.
Link duplicates.
Use family links.
This will link the duplicated grandparents & turn off one set of ancestral branches.

Hope this helps. John & Marion are cousins sharing Jean & Hutchison as grandparents. Grandparents are shown linked. One set of ancestors from there are hidden using the expansion button.

Hi EJP,
Many thanks - your diagram shows exactly what I was trying to say and (as the saying goes) a picture paints a thousand words. [smile]

Thanks, guys, for the response.
Unfortunately it's not what my wife is looking for (vertical pedigree, all linked, no duplicates), so I'll just have to wait until a software developer can mimic what I can do on a spreadsheet!
Either that, or learn to write it myself! javascript:addCode('[grin]') javascript:addCode('[grin]')javascript:addCode('[grin]')

Hi Roger,
Making the chart vertical is just the matter of a tickbox, but I don't understand what else ejp's diagram doesn't achieve against your criteria. Perhaps you could post a diagram as an example? FH diagrams are very flexible and I'm sure what you want can be achieved.
