Family Historian User Group

I'm working with the trial version of V4 and using the Multimedia Records screen. At the bottom left there are link records & notes, ie. to link records to media on the right. Unfortunately, I can't get the re-order arrows (up or down) to work.

Also, on the individual record, facts list - the arrows to re-order items are there but are never made available to use.

Is anyone else having these problem?

I'm only using the last beta at the moment as I'm waiting for the upgrade to become available for download again, but I suspect it hasn't changed much if at all. The Multimedia links will work for me - I have to click on one of the links first and one or other (or both) of the arrows become enabled.

The individual list arrows work the same as in V3. i.e. they work if you have the List in Order button pressed in (next to the arrows). Also you can only move events that apply to the individual, not family events or births of children, for example.

Duhhhh I forgot about the List Order button on the Fact list. So they do work ok.

However, the up/down arrows definitely don't work for the links/notes on the multimedia screen. The worked in V3 but not V4.

Sue, I think the redesign on the V4 window means it's not possible to use the buttons, due to the filtering, although I could be wrong, the buttons on the Property Box can be used instead.

Thanks for that Jane, much appreciated. Is there anywhere that we can report such things to Calico.

I have flagged this with Calico, I am sure they will come back, but I suspect the actual 'bug' is that the arrows should not be their at all. Leaving the Property Box as the place to re-order a persons media.

Thanks Jane, as an ex programmer this sort of thing irks me. Either have it available or remove it.

Thank you for pointing out this issue.  We will investigate it and get back to you on this thread.  But please don't expect a quick response as we are still very busy with other things at the moment.

Meanwhile - if you find any more relevant details on this issue, do by all means continue to post them to this thread.
