Thanks Simon. I did the download and it seems to have fixed the problem of upside down text.
Had also noticed that the sentences for facts had not filled during the upside down problem. That also is now working correctly and I do have my 32 bit reset.

You get two smiles for the 'fix'.
Will be 'off line' for a couple of weeks or so. Will be interested to see what other items are resolved by then.

Sorry I've been away from this thread for a while - a very busy period followed by a few days away means I haven't had a chance to work with Family Historian for a while.
I'm glad to see it looks like the problem has been resolved - I can't check this on my computer yet, as the upgrade doesn't work with the trial version, but I'm happy to go ahead and order the full (boxed) version now, and will try the upgrade once it arrives.
Thanks to Jane and Simon for your hard work fixing this.
Cathy.

Simon, many thanks for a quick patch release - checked over the 'features-fixed' list and am now testing the website wizard.
It's a shame people have bad things to say about version 4 - such a significant rework is bound to have issues!
Keep up the good work!

To be fair there have also been a lot of very positive comments and of course people are far more likely to post a message if they have a problem or gripe than if they're happy. Also I think most of the complaints have been regarding issues fixed in this upgrade and also about delays in receiving v4 or issues with downloading it, etc. all of which should hopefully be resolved very soon. Hopefully we can get another update fairly quickly for other issues that arise and then people can just get back to arguing about features that need to be in the next version!

I quite agree with Steve's and Nick's comments above. FH3 was a great program, and FH4 is even better, in many, many ways. And now v4.0.1 (the patch couldn't be quicker and easier to run, by the way) already brings no less than 8 worthwhile improvements, including the few bug fixes. Well done Simon and his team. I just stumbled across the 'upside down' font problem. Switching to 16-bit temporarily fixed the problem. Downloading the patch (thanks, Calico) enabled me to switch back to 32-bit and NOT incur the font problem again.
