Please can anyone tell me what is the best way to save a diagram, in order to email it to a family relaltive. I tried saving as a jpeg but it said the file is too large, (somewhere around 520 people, but with quite a bit of info in each box.

Any suggestions would be very welcome, thanks in advance.

Consider saving it as a pdf file - see the knowledge base for information.

I agree with Jane's suggestion but in addition to this if you have access to web space you could upload your file to there and just email a link to it.

Think I prefer printing it as pdf and emailing that.

The problem with putting any form of tree onto the net is that many people think that the tree is right, ie with all people, facts and links verified.

I prefer emailing and writing to relatives and would only go onto the web when I'm absolutely certain about facts. Since most of the facts about which I'm certain concern living relatives, I prefer to keep the data private, so the pdf of a large diagram is fine for now

I wasn't suggesting you give the link to anyone other than the person you're emailing! Its a technique I use a lot to pass for example photos or large documents on.

Have a look here

You can upload a GED file, and then be very selective about who can see it.
