Please advise me how to enter a child who was born before the mother married and when she did marry it was not to that child's father.  A child from her marriage is my line of descendancy so I already have the mother entered with her husband and other children.

I would do this by
Adding another family to the mother and add the child to that family, with or with out adding the father as you choose.

Depending on how the child was integrated into the later family you could add the child to that family as well using the relationship field to show the child is Adopted to the father.
