Thought I had sent this earlier.
I have an ancestor born and christened Leslie Horace. He had a very close cousin callde Leslie Desmond. To prevent confusion, Lelsie Horace over a period of time became Horace Leslie (marriage cert and electoral roll, etc)
Currently I have the names as 2 separate people but wish to merge them so that there is only one diagram whci will then show ancestors and descendants. How do I handle this?

Hi Roger,
It's very easy, just go to the records list and select both people (using the shift key). Then in the 'Edit' menu select the 'Merge/Compare records' option, this brings up a dialog box on which you can confirm you have the correct people, then select OK. You then get the 'Merge File' window come up on which you can compare the fields o =n the records and Match/unmatch/discard items, before you finally select 'Merge' button to build the one record with the required details.

Correction: Use the Ctrl key to select two separate records. Using Shift selects all consecutive records between the first selected record and the second. Ctrl allows the selection of individual records.
