SAVE/FTP

Hi
I am evaluating the FH product on a 30 day trial. I imported a gedcom from Genes Reunited and stored all files together with a couple of my own and some photos in a folder named 'my docsFH Website to FTP'. From there they were successfully published by Terrapin FTP to http://www.finnistree.co.uk where they may be viewed. I have attempted to edit various records and create new ones, saving to the folder referred to above. However, no effect is given to 'save' so I am unable to publish the amendments. I suspect this is 'operator error' but have you any idea what I am doing wrong please?

Wen you say 'I have attempted to edit various records' you have obviously done this in FH.  When you close FH or save he database it stores all its data in the .GED file.  Did your .GED file change?

If you amend record in FH, you simply need to run the create website option again and upload all the created files again.

Many thanks for responses - success. However, one needs to remember that when creating a revised web site, FH first deletes the previous one including any additional pages created outside the FH pages. Thus you need to pop these pages back BEFORE FTP to avoid losing them.

The way I manage that is to keep any static files (files that are created outside of FH) in a separate folder. I know it means two separate uploads but I find it easier than remembering to copy in these files into the FH folder, then doing the upload.
