Relationships

Post by GrahamAB » 16 Jan 2009 11:46

My father (A) has a brother (B). There are 2 girls, my Mother (C) and her Aunt (D). (A) marries (C) and (B) marries (D).
When I put them in the family tree there are 2 blocks for (B) and (D). How can I make them as only one or is this not possible?
Hope this makes sense.
As you can see my Aunt is my Aunt through my Dad and his brother but she is also my Great Aunt through my mother.
Thanks for your help.

I am presuming you are seeing them twice on a diagram, if you turn on detect duplicates that will minimise the boxes and put a linking line in.

If you want to get rid of one set for printing just hide the boxes.

From a tree point of view they should appear in both places on the tree.

Jane

Thanks for your reply but I can't find 'detect duplicates' even in the help menu. Sorry to be so thick!!

Right click on the background of the digram and select Options.
