I am very new to this Family Historian package. I am trying to insert a picture in the ancestors etc. area. I have tried the tutorials and even my own small family tree using my own pictures, but each time I select one person by drawing the box around the head from a group photo, select 'insert as new record linked to' that person, when I open the Ancestors and Desendants of that person the WHOLE picture has been inserted instead of just the 1 person. HELP PLEASE!!

When I insert a picture that I wish to attach only a part of to a person I would not insert it as a 'new record linked to xxx' but as a 'new unlinked record'. I would then find the picture in the multimedia window and draw the frame around the face and link it to the person using the 'new frame & link note button'.
Have you linked the whole picture and also the face to the person ie have you linked two images to the person. To check what you have linked to a person show the property dialogue for that person and the press the 'objects' tab. The top pane on the left will show the objects linked to that person and the lower pane will show the actual pictue that has been selected from the objects listed above.
If you have more than one object for your person then perhaps the 'wrong' picture has been given preference. You can alter the picture preference order by using the + or - button between the left hand panes.
Another way to select which picture is displayed is by going to 'diagram options' and then the 'pictures' tab and selecting a different picture option using the 'preferred picture to display - preference' button.
