I have found out how to specify exactly what I want to see on my charts, and this allows me fine control over data displayed against the living.
With reports, it seems I can only choose the 'nuclear' option of excluding ALL detail for the Living. This is too Draconian for my taste. I want to be able to report Year of Birth (but not full date of birth), Places, (but not addresses). And I want to be able to show photos for the living.
Can this be achieved? And can anyone explain the difference in flexibility offered by FH between diagrams and reports? Or am I just missing something?
Thanks, kenny

The simple answer to your second question, is the Reports and Diagrams are different and no one has asked, to my knowledge for the level of control you are looking for.
If you are using narrative reports, you could override the sentences for your living people if you do not have too many in the reports. Another option if you are doing reports for a specific purpose, might be to make a copy of your file and use the delete column trick in Queries to remove the information you don't want on reports, although obviously this will need to be done each time you want to produce reports.

How about using Res Privata to create a new (temporary) GED file, with the dates for living people truncated to just year, then opening it in FH to produce reports and diagrams.
Not sure what Res Privata can or cannot do with place names and photos, but might be worth an experiment.
