Backing Up

Post by Marilyn » 27 Nov 2008 21:33

I have a dedicated folder with all my family history files on the desktop, this is backed up every time the computer is turned off.

At the moment I have my Family Historian file on the desktop, but if you move it into the family tree folder and try to run it from there I lose all the pictures.  So I have to move it back out of the folder to work correctly again, any ideas how to solve this problem.  Just trying to get it to back up with the rest of my files in case of catastrophe with computer.

Any help appreciated, thanks

Move it into the family tree folder and then open Family Historian.  Select Tools > Work with External file Links... and then relink your images by selecting the appropriate folder, clicking Move... and then navigating to the family tree folder.  Click OK

Just to add you can do this a folder at a time and not just file by file.
