Gen Census

Post by Marilyn » 20 Nov 2008 13:16

Thinking of buying Family Historian, which looks a brilliant programme but was just a bit concerned about the possiblity of sending diagrams or reports via email to someone who hasnt got the programme.  Can this be done or do I have to convert it somehow.  If so how is it done.

Also I have downloaded Gen Census as I heard it is very good to use alongside Family Historian, but do I have to type in all the details from the census or is there an easier way to do it.

Thanks for any help

You can output reports and diagram as pdfs if you get a pdf 'printer' such as PdfCreate or pdf995.

By Ged Census I assume you mean Gedcom Census. Yes, you do have to type in all the census details, but it's far far easier with this program than with FH!

Gedcom Census is very good as it makes one consistent in how one enters the information. Decide how you are going to use the sources when you set it up - have a play.

Diagrams can be saved as jpg and other formats from within the programme.

FH did not win the best FamHist programme award for nothing.... very flexible for newbies and experienced alike...
