The small contents display in the Source Properties [Objects] tab and the Multimedia Object Properties window is OK for photographs and other small images but a document image is far too small and a word processor document is not displayable within the window currently.
A very necessary addition is the ability to run the appropriate external viewer from every instance of these properties windows. A button within each of the properties windows is preferable to the main toolbar [Run] button. Possibly this could be a use for the '>>' button, currently inactive in these windows, as it is a logical next step from the details of the MM file.
A more difficult alternative is the internal viewing of .pdf, .docs etc.

Isn't there already a 'Run' button next to the >> button you mentioned?

Why not just hit the camera icon to open the multimedia window? from there you can view full size the images and double click on pdf's etc to open the appropriate viewer.

(a late comer to this conversation
) thanks for the instructions - Id been puzzling over this for a while. Its a shame you cant simply double-click the image/object when you first encounter it (i.e. in the Source dialogue) which is what I'd expect most people try to do rather than having to hit camera then play/open in default editor. But at least there is a solution which is much more important.
