I don't know how to add relatives - the diagram ??
I have more or less worked out by trial and error, how to make a relatives list
on the Family Historian software.
I am using myself as the 'root' person
but each time I try to add one of my
brothers, their OH's and our parents.
It looks messy as I right-click like the 'How To's' thing said.
Because it covers me up with the lines.
Where am I going wrong?

I am not quite sure why, try resetting the diagram options to installation settings. I presume you are building a new tree based on a All relatives diagram? Don't use the Everyone diagram when building.

I am right-clicking as I said but I only get All Relatives tree not as
you said 'Everyone' I do know them as they are close family.
I can't even work out how to add my brother's families. I won't give up easily. [question]

With an all relatives tree on the screen for you, to add your brothers wife just click and hold the left button on your brother and drag side ways to add a wife, or down to add children. To add his in laws you will need to centre the diagram on his wife or on one of his children.

Yesterday, Friday I spent most of the day arranging the Family Historian software's diagram with my Family Tree.
Which was interesting fun.
But as some members of my family including my Dad have married twice, I have added them only now it looks like I have 2 mother? I had a Stepmum.
Only now the diagram has untidy coloured lines across it.
How do I sort this one out.
I can't get any further until I've sorted it all out. Reason being as I am a perfectionist.
Thanks

What does it look like when you go into the Records View side of Family Historian, rather than the diagram?
You should be able to see if people are linked correctly, and un-link or re-link them as needed.
If you've created a link you didn't mean to, undo it, and see if that helps clean up the mess on the diagram.

Jan Thanks and the Records list on Family Historian looks like a jumbled up list of my family. It is odd as I
started with myyself and I am, No., 11 but there is no 1 -10. My parents are 12 and 13,
How do I unlink them on the diagram?
Yesterday was the day that I really got a sort of grasp of it not too well I think. [confused]

Don't worry about the numbers yet.
Look at your own entry on the records window. Right-click on that entry and choose 'Properties' which will have a pane with your information on it.
Push the button which says 'Parents' and look at your father's record. There should be two tabs, one with his marriage to your mother, and another for his marriage to your stepmother.
Click on the stepmother's tab so that her entry is on top of your mother's tab. Who appears in the boxes below under 'children'?
If you have linked yourself to her in error, your entry will appear in that list. You can click on the wrongly-linked entry and unlink it from the parents by going to the 'edit' menu in the top menu bar.
Once you have done that, ask Family Historian to show you the diagram again and the wrong link between you and your stepmother should be gone.
If this scenario does not apply, then ignore what I said. I will let the users who are more experienced with diagrams take over from here.

If you are having problems, I recommend you have a look at the manual. It is written as a tutorial and takes you through the steps to build up your family using a fictional example. There are tutorial data files that can be loaded which show how it should look and allow you to jump in at specific chapetrs if you are having problems with a particular feature.
Click on the Help menu, then select Manual: 'Getting the Most From Family Historian' about half way down. Start at chapter 1 and it will lead you through the steps needed. You don't need to do every chapter, but I would recommend the first six. An hour spent going through this could save you a lot of time later on.

Thanks Dave,
The first thing that I did after I'd
downloaded the Family Historian's Software was to go onto the site and then read all of the Manual.
I find it easier online as the booklet's font is too small for me.
I will have another look at it later on today.
Yes I am having problems but with new things I seem to 'invent' them.
Even as boring as cooking.
