Family Historian User Group

My 2 x gt Grandfather was Thomas Pomfrett Tofts b1837

I've searched the internet and Pomfrett only ever seems to come up as a surname, never a middle name

There are no Pomfrett's in my family tree so it's not an attempt to create a double barrelled name

It seems to have come from nowhere, and seems a totally odd choice of middle name to me

Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the matter please?

DOH! Just anserwed my own question

Just searched the LDS as I had no info on his mother other than being Anne Baker and at the right time and place there was an Ann Pomfrett who a few years earlier had married a John Baker

Mystery solved i think!
