Displaying multiple instances of events in diagram
In diagrams, how do you display all instances of an event/attribute?
ie. all residences. Someone may have lived in 10 places or more.
When you run an 'individual summary' report, it lists all occurances of events & attributes, but I cant find out how.
any suggestions?

In the query store there is a Text scheme which does this for occupations.
All you need to do is add an index to the event for instance
So
Will print the first two occupations with dates.
The one draw back is since the boxes are as long as the maximum possible number of lines not the actual number of lines used you will find trying to get all the information on a diagram can result in very long boxes.
All you need to do is add an index to the event for instance
Code: Select all
%INDI.OCCU[2], %INDI.OCCU[3], %INDI.OCCU[4]Code: Select all
Occupation %INDI.OCCU% (%INDI.OCCU.DATE%) %INDI.OCCU[2]% (%INDI.OCCU[2].DATE%)Will print the first two occupations with dates.

Thanks Jane, but I knew most of that.
What I was getting at was a way of listing an unknown number of instances, so instead of having to suffix the expresions with specific instance identifiers [1], [2], [3], ....[n], I was hoping you would say you can simply say- list all occurances of this expression by using something like [*].
The last part of your reply brings me quite nicely onto another point I would like to raise.
There always seems a lot of empty and wasted space in diagram boxes, in fact, looking at some of mine with full name; b.m.d; places and default residence, there's not one box filled from top to bottom.
Surely, I would have thought there would be a mechanism, like some other programmes, whereby the height of boxes in each generation row would adjust to the height of the box which showed (note the word showed) the most lines. Otherwise, as you say the boxes would become very long when additional data is requested.

In the above, the dot in the middle is not what I typed! It was ment to be an asterisk in square brackets.

It has been discussed, I think there may be a wish list item for both the all occurances and the box height. If now I will add them on Tuesday, when I can access the Wish List maintenance as I can not access to add new items from home.

The [1], [2] to select specific multiple instances is OK but is there a way of selecting the LAST instance of an occupation or address with the place and date to include in a diagram by using, for example, [99]. As mentioned earlier it would also be much easier if ALL instances could be selected by [n] or similar.

<99 shows the last. V3 is expected to cover several of these issues.
