Merging family tree the result

Post by ian112 » 05 Jan 2008 09:43

I may have missed something vitally important but its to do with family tree diagram. I have just merged 2 trees and the total is 35.000names plus. When you click on the everyone button and then click on the 'world view' you are confronted with a huge tree full of strands which take ages to sort out. I wish there could be a button called 'sort out' that you could click and the family tree could take its proper form and that it keeps to its form next time you go back to it. I hope this makes sense

With that number of people you are probably better, building the 'everyone' diagram manually, starting with an all relatives for your main family and adding the ones you require.

The everyone diagram produces a descendant tree for each 'top' of tree person, so with a lot of peripheral information as I assume you have in such a large tree the everyone diagram is likely to be unwieldy.
