Recording Ambiguous Data

I've got two birth certificates where there is no record of any father.

Yet subsequent censuses show there is a male Head of Household with the same surname as that of the mother on the birth cert..

Has anyone had similar experiences and any thoughts on how I might record this.

TIA

With 2.1 onwards you can specify the relationship, so you can qualify the relationship between the child and parents, you can also add a note for more information.

Extracted from the Fh Help File
Tip: You can qualify the “Parent-Child” relationship to indicate whether the relationship was ‘birth’, ‘adopted’, ‘fostered’ or ‘de facto’, with respect to either or both parents. To do this, you need to switch to the ‘All’ tab of the Property Dialog when viewing the child’s details, and right click on the “Parents Family” field. Then select ‘Add Relationship’ from the menu that appears, and select the appropriate value from the dropdown list. If necessary, you can add more than one Relationship field to deal with each parent separately.
