I think icons on diagrams/charts are the best thing since sliced bread, I really do. But it might be getting a bit out of hand.

I have flags for the 7 UK censuses, and after a recent post here, I found out that the magnificent Gedcom Census would do all the hard work for me by adding and setting these flags.

However, I have BCMD Index flags - 4 - and BMD Certificate flags - 3. I have queries set up for these that basically check the Event Source Type, and then I set the flag from the Result Set. Is this the easiest way to do this? Obviously this means I need to run seven queries, setting the flags on each result set. I know this isn't exactly torture, but it started to get impractical before I found out Gedcom Census would do the Census flags, and now I'm thinking of adding more.

Thanks for any help.

I also have a wide range of flags, and I have found that I enter the flag whenever I add a source (I have flags for Free BMD, IGI and Other).

Needless to say it is slow and a simpler way to add flags would help me - e.g. user programmable keys

Yes I think it would be useful if Family Historian were able to automatically generate flags based on rules (in a similar way to Gedcom Census - thanks for the kind words satyricon). Perhaps it needs a wishlist item?
