Assistance with Query/Gedcom please.

I have Master list which consists of known, and POSSIBLE, descendants of 1 man. I Know the Tree can be split but can the List be split? The obvious way it to do a Standard query based on (Man 1)which would give his descendants and 2) a Custom query looking for SAME SURNAME but not related to, Man 1.
I have looked at the Query format but cannot see how to to do this, if indeed it is possible.
My ultimate aim is to publish a website
so I would really like to have definite and probable sections, with Gedcom facilities for exporting.Am I being too ambitious?

They are both pretty easy, the first is the standard descendant query.

The second, just add everyone with the surname and exclude everyone descended from your key person.
