Automatic age calculation using Julian calendar

Since I'm new here my apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere, but if it has I've been unable to find it.

In cases where I have a DoB for someone, each time I add a new life event (with a date) FH automatically calculates their age and also indicates any dicrepancy between their reported age and the age it calculated with an exclamation mark. At least, it does so when the dates entered use the Gregorian calendar. However, when I enter dates using the Julian calendar this feature no longer works and ages are not auto-calculated.

Have I missed a setup option somewhere? Or is this a known problem?

Have you checked the Julian setting in preferences? As it seems to be working for me.

I've set the switchover date to 1752, if that's what you mean; can't find anything else.

I have not tried that method with the [J].
I always use the double year method.

Unforunately the double year method won't work for me. Scotland adopted 1st January as the first day of the year on 1/1/1600, but continued to use the Julian calendar until 1752. (Despite what many people think, these two things are not related. The confusion arises because both were independetly introduced in the British Empire in the same year.) The double year method will only work for dates prior to 1600.

I had to manually set each date to be Julian. I had assumed that the software would automatically select Julian as default for all dates prior to 14/9/1752, but apparently not.
