Cassini Maps

I have found these maps very useful in researching an area around 150-200 years ago.I find they have helped by showing an area as it used to be and not as it is today.Names etc. have changed some places exist then and not now.Also there are no railways!It just seems to show the area in the right context.The website is http://www.cassinimaps.co.uk

Looks good but at £6.49 per map would soon break my bank[frown]

I picked up a copy of The Phillimore Atlas and Index of Parish Registers at the Family History Show last year reduced to £30. It is great for maps, place names etc. and covers all of the UK.

I actually enjoy just thumbing through it[rolleyes]
