This is basically the same question I posted on general. On a death certificate of one of my relatives the following note appears: Result of recongniton?(I think that is the word)see Reg of corrected entries Vol 2 page 209 11th Feb 1921?? Does anyone have any idea where I would find this. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated [confused]

Is this a scottish death? There are various references to the Register of Corrected Entries on Google but they all seem to relate to Scotland.

If it is a Scottish certificate, then the word is most likely precognition and, I think, implies a cause which is was subjuect to further enquiry such as a coroners inquest and report or following autopsy. The established cause of death is published in the volume of the Register of Corrected Entries as detailed. If you were to order a certified copy of the death certificate then the information in the Register of Corrected Entries will be included on that copy. However, I believe that there are plans to have the Register of Corrected Entries searchable online (via scotlandspeople.gov.uk) in the next few months. Hope this helps.
