Exporting diagrams as pictures

Post by NeilH » 15 Feb 2007 16:44

Can anyone advise the best way to export diagrams so that they can be placed into a powerpoint presentation?

I'd like to start building a family branch 'storyline' using powerpoint but it appears that only 'picture files' can be imported into the program.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Powerpoint can import many types of graphic files. JPG or PNG are probably the best.

If your Powerpoint doesn't offer graphic file types such as JPG or PNG in the File Open dialog when you select Insert->Picture->From file then you might need to install the extra components from the Microsoft Office CD.

Make sure that you diagram is not too large since some graphic formats have limits on the size and FH won't export the diagram in this situation. You can scale it or remove branches if this is the case.

In case you have missed it the Save Diagram As option, on the file menu, allows saving as a variety of formats. I would try .png first as it retains go quality.

Thanks all for your help - I was looking under  File>save as rather than diagram>save diagram as - so now managed to do it!
