I posted an item yesterday concerning using multimap for maps tied to births etc.
I am not quite sure whether I should use the wish list or the forum but never mind I will learn.
Since yesterday I have tried to get the direct connection via an URL inside a 'note' but this has no external connection to call up the web.
I made it work after a fashion but it is not at all elegant and not really connected to an event.
What I was looking for - and this is for others to use later - is the ability to 'click' on the typed URL, in this case
http://www.multimap.com/browse.cgi?pc=W1A1AA that would give one the BBC location. I checked it with EX16  4DB that gave me the centre of Tiverton and part of the surrounding district.
Any information on where I can place the URL if not on a note and still have it tied to an event.
The aerial photo's are great and free!

I suspect these would be better linked as multimedia objects.

I do not think web links are supported specificly, the problem being that they go out of date so quickly. Personally I think you might be better saving the pages locally and linking them using multimedia.

I can add support for html/web/mail links to the wish list if you like.

I think that the ability to have active web links is a feature that will become more important as time goes on and therefore should be included, perhaps as an attribute.

It would also be an idea to include, at some stage, a means of being able to verify web links - ie a tools option which would check the current validity of all the links in the file and report on bad links - this would overcome the problem of links going out of date.
