I've imported a GEDCOM into FH from Family Tree Maker, where I had set up several Facts such as Marriage Witness, or Army.
FHG seems to have sorted these out except that when I do a narrative report, I now get phrases such as 'They experienced Marriage Witness ....'
Mariage Witness does not appear in any Fact Set, so how can I change the stupid 'They Experienced ...' to a more suitable phrase, such as {name} was a witness at the marriage .
Also, how do I make the witness an attribute of the marriage event in the same way as date and place is? I would also like to be able to add the vicar's name as well.

You need to show hidden events and attributes in the Fact Set Tool and create a fact set for them.
The last one can not be done currently, it is on the wish list. You can of course use a Note with the Label options to mark the data for future use.

If you go into Tools|Work with Factsets and click on the 'Show Hidden' button you should see your imported events/attributes. If you double click on each one you will be given the opportunity to place them into a Factset and you will then be able to define a new sentence structure.

Patrick, Jane,
Thanks for the reply, I've now found the missing witnesses!!
However, it would have been nice if Help was able to be a little more specific about the contexts in which {couple} expands either into the couple's names, or just 'they'!! Instead of experiencing a marriage witness (the mind boggles[oops] ) I now get '... was a witness at they wedding.' [rolleyes]
I also take it I can't define the witness as an attribute of the marriage event[frown] ?

You can have a marriage witness as an attribute of a marriage. My template for it is '{couple} had as a marriage witness'.

I have a custom event 'marriage witness'. When I enter the event in the individual's property dialogue I add a note in the note section below the address space saying 'Marriage of John White/Mary Brown' or as appropriate. I then use the following template - {individual} was a {label} {date}{place} for the {note}
This produces the sentence - He (or she) was a marriage witness on 10 September 1882 in Kensington, Middlesex for the marriage of John White/ Mary Brown.
This seems fine to me.
