Multimedia Type

I'd like a Type for multi-media items (similar to that for Sources) so that you could categories pictures (e.g. People, Places, Graves, Source Documents etc)

I suspect that a problem might be that the 'Type' field is already used by the program to categorise as a document, picture etc, (something that I must confess I don't ever use). I suppose a work around would be to use the custom ID field, but there you would have to enter the text every time instead of being able to pick from a list. I would certainly be in favour of freeing up the Type field to achieve what you've requested.

I have been using the Custom ID field, but as Jane says you have to type them in over and over. I have types as follows:
baptism, birth, marriage, death where I have scanned in the certificate, I also have 'church photo' as well as photo (for people)and 'photo place', census (for saved images). I sort the multimedia records list by the Custom id column from time to time to make sure they are all up to date.
