I've had a few instances where I have wanted to search a census return based only knowing the street name and registration district (eg based on info from a marriage certificate, but perhaps due to transcription errors the people names have not been found).
My main resource is Ancestry.co.uk and it's extremely tedious search through all the enumeration district pages looking for a street name.
Can anyone suggest a quicker way of finding the census pages for a given street?
Thanks for any tips.
David.

Search for a Street in Census?
Some local family history groups publish street name indexes so you could look to see if there is one for the area you are researching.

Search for a Street in Census?
Hi David
You could try http://www.1837online.com
They have the complete census information for 1861 & 1891 and are currently in the process of transcribing the 1841 and 1871 census information. You have the option to search by person or address. You don't have to subscribe but you can purchase units for a minimum of £5.00 for 90 days. This may help to fill in any gaps.
Happy searching!
