I've just been reading the proposed specification for GEDCOM XML at http://www.familysearch.org/GEDCOM/GedXML60.pdf.
Does anyone know if/when this will become the de facto standard for Genealogy programs and if Family Historian will be adopting this as its file format.
(Note this was posted by Derek S, as an article since it is a question I have moved it to the Forums)

I tried using the link to get to the document but it says that it has moved. A search within Google found the following link which seems to point to the same page but does enable the PDF ro be downloaded.

Thanks John, I think it will be a while before the Version 6 GEDCOM becomes commonly used.
