Printing - lost names from boxes

Post by Fergus » 26 Sep 2006 22:31

Can not work out what has happened. Looks ok on the screen and on Print Preview but on paper names have vanished.

Looked at the text options for diaghams and it was set on Birth, Marriage, Death

I tried changing it to Name, Dates but no luck

Any ideas please?

thanks Fergus

What version are you using?
What Operating system?

Have you ensured you have the latest printer drivers for your printer?

My first code for the company I work for was on the Commodore Pet and very nice it was too :)

All that RAM a whole 64Kb, now why do I need 2Gb of RAM now [confused][grin]

Still no good using my wife's Kyocera FS-1020D at home. I have removed the driver, gone to Kyocera web site and re-installed the driver.

Still missing names from boxes. Rather anoying, will try messing around with printer settings.

Sorry to hear you are still having problems. I have printed ok to a great variety of printers. One thing to try if you are on V3 just try a really simple text scheme with out any font changes to see if its just the font change which the Kyocera does not like.

Thanks Jane, I do not think that I tried to use any different fonts. Just plain vanilla as they say.

Not too much trouble, will just have to print at work a bit.

thanks Fergus

Another thought. Do the lines print ok?

The names are in a different colour to the rest of the text could it be the printer does not like the colour of the text?

I get this using a Kyocera laser printer too. Latest drivers installed and completely hunkydory with every other bit of software.

It's only the diagrams it does this - FH prints fine in all other screens.

I suppose the work-round, which I've not tried yet, is going to be to save as PDF or JPG.

What you need to do is to change the box, text colour setting so the names print in black.

I've joined the club, too. Same printer, same problem. This printer has printed tens of thousands of pages from all sorts of programs with no problem whatsoever. I've turned off all the fancy text colouring options in FH, but still the names do not print. Aaarggh!

Try adding a . on a line above the name, some times lasers will not render text which is too close to a line.
