Export Report Data

Post by david63 » 18 Nov 2003 23:35

I have been searching through this forum but I do not seem to be able to find any mention of my problem.

What I would like to be able to do is to export, for selected names, selected data. By export I mean that I would like to create a file that can be read by Word or Excel.

Does anyone know if this is possible? and if so how?

Hi,
You are looking under the wrong title. You need to look at queries, these allow you to define what you want to export and then save the data as CSV, or text files which can be loaded into excel or other programs.

There is a lot in the manual about these and you will find addition queries in the query store from the main menu at this site.

Thanks - I had not tried using queries before.

Not being too familiar with queries can you give me a quick guide on how to select individuals - I can get at the attributes no problem.

I suggest reading through chapter 12 of the main manual (can be opened from the Help menu).

If you also look at the queries supplied with FH you can see how they are built.

If you have a specific request I should be able to do a query to match, if I get a few minutes.

Thanks. I am getting the hang of queries. Never realised the power in FH.[smile]
