';cannon manchester deepend';

Can anyone translate this for me - its in relation to the Christening of a forebeare in Manchester Cathedral in 1827(but the diocese was not created until 1847).

In other, earlier, references to Christenings in the same family it refers to the Cathedral which I know was a simple parish church in the 14th century and then became a collegiate church before it became a Cathedral (and parish) church...

The spelling is not the ecclesiastical canon so is this a conflating of some sort of address?

This is off IGI : as the christening pre 1837 I cannot just order a cert in the hope that it will all come clear.

So any thoughts anyone, please.....

Contact the County record office where the original register is held. If you give them the date, church and name they might be able to provide you with a transcription or you could buy a copy of the page from the original register. You can often get extra information this way, in the case of a christening the father's occupation or address.
