Changing Standard wording in reports

Post by lancashiredave » 03 Jul 2006 17:18

How do I change the standard wording in a report.
at the moment for an event such as the 1891 census it says:
He experienced 1891 census.

I would like to able to control the wording used in Reports and perhaps even remove thewords He experience all together
Is this possible? as it can be done in legacy, and try as I might I can find how to do it in Family Historian

That sounds like you have custom
census events, if you are using V3 you can use the fact set maintenance to correct the wording to what you require.

Personally I have never used custom events for Census prefering to stick the the GedCom Standard one (CENS)

Thanks for that Jane,
Thats just what I was looking for.
It must have been imported as custom from legacy.

Should I change my census to Standard and if so how do I do that

Probably the quickest way is to use a text editor to search and replace them

A lot depends on the number you have to do and your confidence with advanced search and replace options.
