I am inputting a lot of disparate information so cannot use the automatic citation facility, but I do want to enter the date of input against the various sources information (and wish I had done that from the word go). Typing the date of entry every time is an irritation - so does anyone else want a 'today' button that could be used and which takes the system date? Next to the button that takes one to the date entry helper? Or have I missed that there is already a shortcut to do the same job?

Just a comment to say that I believe the entry date for a source citation is really meant to be used to record the date of the citation record, e.g. the date of birth, the census date, etc. rather than todays date, although I know a number of people do use it for this purpose.

Hi Nick
I use a general source reference (eg 'Census 1841')- not individual ones that I think is the alternative method in your brilliant (wish I had had it from the start!) prog. Given that the attribute or event, to which I attach the general source, has dates I did not see the need to duplicate as I saw it. And as I revisit information to review it it would be good to know when I input the information or amended it
So if I am not the only one who uses this method then maybe there is a need ... it would be a bonus for us eccentrics!
