Death cert informant

I have a death certificate which is puzzling me.
Under the name of the informant it says:
'2 Step Son
Present at the death'
(the 2 is slightly raised).

OK, he might be a stepson - haven't been able to prove it yet - but what does '2' mean?
Can anyone help?
Thanks, J.

Is there a correction on the certificate?

I have come across instances where something has been corrected, with a raised number aginst it. In these cases, on the margin of the certificate there will be a signature against that number to show it was an authorised alteration by the registrar.

Thank you for that idea.  I think you are right.
I hadn't noticed, but at the side is written 'Two' and the registrar's initials.  The 'stepson' doesn't seem to be out of place, however, but part of the cause of death in the previous box could be, so maybe the '2' belongs there...

Thanks again for your help.
