I doubt if this can be programmed but it's worth asking. I make great use of the All Relations diagram to map a very large family database. Frequently I need to trace the connections between individuals who are distantly related. This is possible within the existing structure only (I think) by 'manually' following the connection lines back and across until luck or judgement brings you to the individual you are seeking. If the connecting path were highlighted, or colour-coded, in some way it would be so much simpler to follow. In effect, if I am the root person, I'd want to enter the ID of the target relative and have the program indicate the connecting line clearly for me. If this actually can be done I'd be amazed ... and delighted!

It's fairly easy to use a query to find common ancestors, there is a query in the query store called common ancestors, and I think it might be possible to then do a query to find the paths.
You could then use the mark option to highlight the boxes based on the Query.

Thank you for this advice Jane. It's not quite what I had in mind, but it's set me off on a new train of thought. I'm fairly new to the program and hadn't looked at the Query section at all until prompted by your reply. Now I'm well into it, so thanks again.
